SALT LAKE CITY — Logan Police Department has released a timeline leading to the arrest of a former officer, who was indicted over the weekend.
Officer Carlos Cubias was arrested Saturday, March 16, for forcible sex abuse and other charges.
LPD said on April 30, 2023, Cubias reportedly gave a ride to two young women walking alone at 2 a.m. He reportedly made a U-turn in his squad car, and called the young women over. According to court documents, the officer insisted the young women get in his car, and began asking them sexually-charged questions while driving to their destination.
Once they reached the destination, he asked one of the women for her phone number, where he allegedly groped her. Court documents said Cubias is also accused of researching her personal information in the Utah Criminal Justice Information System after the incident.
