Man accused of abusing teen girl on University of Utah campus

SALT LAKE CITY — A 30-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing a teen girl on the campus of the University of Utah.
Parker Stephen Lewis, of Murray, was charged Thursday in 3rd District Court with two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
The investigation began on Sept. 25.
“This incident involved an employee and a patient in a health care setting. The employee was immediately placed on administrative leave pending results of an investigation and is no longer employed,” the University of Utah told KSL in a prepared statement.
According to charging documents, a 16-year-old girl was seen in a room with Lewis, sitting on a desk, and “they had their arms around each other.” Lewis was seen going into the teen’s room on several occasions with each visit becoming longer, the charges state.
“Surveillance video showed that Lewis visited (her) room 12 times and was there between one minute and 11 minutes, on Sept. 11. On Sept. 25, Lewis is in (her) room for approximately 40 seconds,” according to the charges.
“We are committed to providing safe, compassionate care for every patient and take any allegation of misconduct seriously. We have worked closely with investigators and are fully cooperating,” the school stated.
