SALT LAKE CITY – A man was seen on camera footage, accused of vandalizing multiple solar panels in San Juan County. He was caught by law enforcement Sunday, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Cameras that were placed near wells in the area captured a man allegedly smashing large solar panels, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

“When he saw my camera he cut its cables and took it,” Monte Wells, the owner of the camera, said. “But not before I got a good picture.”

It was estimated that “thousands of dollars” in damage was done to the solar panels.

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.
