Man charged for crashing vehicle into Sandy dealership

SANDY, Utah — A man who was accused of crashing his vehicle through the entrance of Sandy dealership in December was charged on Thursday, according to charging documents.
In a probable cause statement, Michael Murray, 35, was charged in the third district court with two counts of property damage and one count of reckless endangerment.
On Dec. 3, Murray drove his Silver Subaru Outback into the building of the Tim Dahle Mazda dealership located at 10785 S. Auto Mall Dr.
The incident occurred when Murray became aggravated when the dealership sold him the vehicle ‘as is’ and refused to take it back.
According to the book affidavit, Murray said he would drive his car through the front door if the dealership didn’t take it back.
Murray then proceeded to crash the vehicle through the front doors and into the reception desk, narrowly hitting employees and guests in the building.
According to the charging documents, the total cost of damages to the building was $85,838.
The charging documents stated that Murray was charged with a second-degree felony without bail.
In a probable cause statement, Murray poses as a significant danger to the community if released.
