One dead after officer-involved shooting at Sandy senior living facility

SALT LAKE CITY — A person is dead after a shooting involving a U.S. Marshalls task force at a Sandy senior living facility Friday.
According to police, the suspect was a wanted fugitive who was inside the Silver Pines Senior Living Facility located at 100 South 700 East.
According to Sgt. Greg Moffitt with the Sandy Police Department, the shooting took place at around 1 p.m.
Police were attempting to arrest the suspect, however, during the process an officer shot the suspect. It is not known at this time if the suspect had a weapon.
The incident is currently being investigated.
