One dead another injured in Payson

PAYSON, Utah — One dead and another seriously injured found in a house in Payson after police officers responded to a domestic violence call.
Payson Police Officers responded to a Domestic Violence call at 500 N 600 East just before midnight Friday night. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim deceased in the basement, having suffered multiple lacerations to his head. In the same residence, another man was found in serious condition with injuries to his head and shoulder.
Sergeant N. Sandoval with the Payson Police Department stated in a press release that the suspect was found in the upper part of the home.
Authorities state that the suspect attacked both victims, leading to the loss of one life and leaving the other in critical condition.
The second victim has since been released from Mountain View Hospital according to the release.
The suspect, whose identity is being withheld at this time. The suspect has been apprehended and booked into the Utah County Jail on charges of Aggravated Murder and Attempted Murder.
The Payson Police Department assures the community that there are no outstanding suspects or further threat to public safety.
The Payson Police Department expresses condolences to the family of the deceased victim. They also extend sympathy to all those affected by what they called a “senseless act of violence.”
