Person killed in Ogden mobile home fire

OGDEN – One person was killed after a mobile home caught fire in Ogden Tuesday morning, according to firefighters.

At approximately 5:26 a.m., the Ogden Fire Department said in a release it received reports of a fire at a mobile home park at 1065 Wall Ave.

Firefighters reported a mobile home was engulfed in smoke and flames, and they were told someone was inside.

“Firefighters acted swiftly, entering the structure to fight the fire and search for the occupant,” the department said.

Firefighters found the person inside and pulled them out of the mobile home, according to the department. The person was taken to a local hospital, where firefighters said the person “succumbed to their injuries” shortly after their arrival.

The fire was extinguished “a short time later,” according to the department.

“We are heartbroken at the loss of life and our condolences go out to the family,” the department said.

The Ogden Fire Department reported three fire engines, three ladder trucks, two ambulances and a paramedic truck responded to the scene. A Deputy Chief and Deputy Fire Marshal were also present, the department said.

The Ogden Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire, which reportedly caused $100,000 in damages, according to initial reports. No further information was immediately available.
