SANDY, Utah — Sandy police are investigating a shooting Monday afternoon, in which an adult male suffered multiple gunshot wounds in a church parking lot.
Sgt. Greg Moffitt, of Sandy Police, tells KSL that the incident occurred in the area of 8825 S. Monroe Street around 5 p.m.
Moffitt says when officers arrived on the scene, they found a male lying in the parking lot. The victim, described to be in his 30s, was shot twice, according to Moffitt. Moffitt says it’s unclear how many shots were actually fired.
Moffitt says there isn’t a lot of information on the suspect but believes they may have been in a vehicle.
Additionally, Moffitt says the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. He says the victim was conscious when he left the scene.
This is a developing story.
