PROVO — Provo police are searching for a woman who they say fled from officers before crashing a car, causing it to fly through the air toward a building and damage two other cars. She then ran away, according to police.
The series of events happened just after midnight on April 7, near 130 E. 500 North.
Provo officers were attempting to stop the vehicle for “moving and driver’s license violations,” but the driver of the car failed to stop and drove east on 500 East, police said. Officers lost sight of the vehicle, but after searching the area, they discovered it had crashed, damaging two other cars and some street signs.
In security footage from a nearby dental business, the white car can be seen soaring over a parking lot, flipping multiple times, and landing on top of two vehicles, coming to a stop on the lawn of a home.
The vehicle was unoccupied when officers approached, but witnesses reported that the driver and passenger ran away, police said.
Provo resident Alyse Frogley lives nearby and was sitting in her car across the street when the crash occurred. In a video she took, the two car’s occupants can be seen running away.
