SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole granted a commutation hearing Tuesday regarding the case of Ralph Menzies.
The hearing comes after Ralph Menzies’ attorneys have argued that his competency needs to be re-evaluated by an independent examiner.
Menzies, 67, was convicted in 1988 for the killing of 26-year-old Maurine Hunsaker.
The board is currently working to schedule a date for the hearing.
