SALT LAKE CITY — A woman with multiple active warrants was arrested for drug distribution Thursday night, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
According to the booking affidavit, the arrest happened near the area of 800 W. North Temple. Police said this area is known for high crime and drug trafficking.
During surveillance, police said they noticed several individuals approach 26-year-old Daphne Cailin McPeak.
The interactions would involve placing money on the ground, picking up an unknown item behind McPeak, and walking away, according to the affidavit.
The SLCPD believed this was a drug transaction, due to the area and the quick transactions.
Police said they stopped McPeak before she tried to leave the area. A search of her person revealed cocaine, fentanyl tablets, marijuana and a large amount of cash, according to the affidavit.
During the investigation, police said McPeak had multiple active warrants, including felonies for endangerment of a child.
The affidavit stated that McPeak was arrested for three counts of distribution of a controlled substance.
