SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Court of Appeals heard arguments this morning in the case of a rape that allegedly happened in 1996 but wasn’t reported until 2021.
The state of Utah filed rape charges against the man but his lawyers argued that the case should be thrown out because the statute of limitations had passed.
The state, however, argued that Utah law says the statute of limitations hadn’t passed.
