2 people of interest in Washington City stabbing found

SALT LAKE CITY — Police found two teens who are people of interest in the fatal stabbing of a California woman in Washington City.

Lt. Kory Klotz with the Washington County Police Department said the two teenagers were found in Los Angeles County, California at 9 p.m. on Wednesday night. Police said the two were in good health and were physically unharmed.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Washington City Police Department said a two teenagers were with the 47-year-old California woman as they were visiting Utah from March 20 to March 23.

Police said investigators found the rental car the three were using on Sunday morning at approximately 10 a.m. MDT in California. Flanagan and Sorescu were also last seen in Bellflower, California, and are still believed to be in that area.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry into the vacation home the three women were staying in.

According to police, the two teenagers are not suspects in the woman’s death. Investigators want to interview the two people to understand what happened.

On Sunday, police were called to the 1200 block of North Bello Aly, when the vacation home cleaners found the woman on the floor with multiple stab wounds. She was confirmed dead at the scene.

Police said the woman and the two teens stayed inside the home while visiting national parks in Utah and Arizona.

Washington City police said federal and California law enforcement helped to search for the two teens.

Authorities have not identified the killed California woman as of Wednesday.
