SALT LAKE CITY — A 48-year-old man from West Jordan was arrested Wednesday on charges that include assaulting a law enforcement officer during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Justin Dee Adams was arrested in West Jordan and charged in a criminal complaint filed in the District of Columbia. Other charges include resisting or impeding law enforcement officers and interfering with law enforcement officers during a civil disorder.

Court documents indicate that Adams was on U.S. Capitol grounds with many others on Jan. 6, 2021. The documents indicate that he confronted officers, was pushed back by officers and then charged at them.

At least 928 people have been charged in the Capitol insurrection so far. This searchable table shows them all.

Adams is accused of physically attacking one or more officers, and of grabbing a metal bicycle rack being used by officers to prevent the crowd from making continuing advances toward the Capitol. Court documents indicate that Adams and another person then dragged the bike rack into the crowd.

Adams was arrested pending a detention hearing scheduled for Oct. 28, 2022.

Adams was listed as person #374 on the FBI’s “seeking information” website.
