PARK CITY, Utah — Park City School District announced a new inclusivity and anti-bullying campaign for the 2024-25 school year.

The district said the “We All Belong Campaign” is meant to create a welcoming and inclusive school environment.

“As Park City’s kids head back to school, we as their educators are ready to teach them what they need to learn to succeed in school and in life,” wrote Superintendent Jill Gildea in a letter posted on the Park City School District website. “Equal to this critical mission … we are also ready to make sure each and every student, parent, guardian, staff, and community member is safe and secure knowing that here in our schools, we all belong!”

The campaign will be implemented throughout the district.

Park City School District efforts

Firstly, the letter explained that some policy changes have been made within the district. They outline what is and is not acceptable behavior within the district’s schools.

Additionally, the new policies clarify how bullying, harassment, or discrimination incidents are reported and handled.

Secondly, the district has established a website for community members to report when bullying, harassment, or discrimination happens. It is open to parents and guardians, students, and school district faculty and staff.

Per the letter, the website is intended to help school district personnel work to resolve issues.

Thirdly, the school district said it will provide materials that support the ideas behind the “We All Belong” campaign.

Some of the materials will reinforce that everyone belongs within the PCSD community. Others will explain how parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and families can help build a sense of belonging.

Finally, Park City School District said it has launched a website for the campaign. The “We All Belong” website contains resources, courses, and forums for stakeholders to join the effort.

“Even though we live in challenging and divisive times, this need not be the reality in our schools and community,” wrote Gildea.
