Attorney Erin Rider announces campaign for SLCo mayoral election

SALT LAKE CITY — Erin Rider, a Salt Lake City attorney, has announced that she will run for Salt Lake County Mayor.
Rider’s campaign office provided a press release to KSL NewsRadio. It said the candidate “is committed to building a fresh future for Salt Lake County.”
Additionally, the press release said that Rider promises to bring “new ideas and bold leadership” to the county.
Her campaign will focus on responsible financial management, increased public safety, and innovative environmental practices, according to the press release.
“My experience in the legal community helping businesses build and expand, partnered with a thorough understanding of government operations, have prepared me to tackle these issues head-on. Our focus must be on building a resilient, innovative, and vibrant Salt Lake County for all,” said Rider.
The press release said more information about Rider’s campaign can be found on her website, however, the site provides no details about her plans. Rather, it only reads, “New ideas and fresh leadership for Salt Lake County.”
Erin Rider’s campaign Facebook profile says that Rider is a “lifelong Republican and conservative.”
Salt Lake County’s current mayor, Jenny Wilson previously said that she is running for re-election in 2024.
