Utah’s election day to come later this month

SALT LAKE CITY— Voters around the country will cast their ballots for Election Day today, however, Utahn voters will not join. Utah’s election day will be on November 21 this year. 

After Congressman Chris Stewart announced his resignation earlier this year, state lawmakers scheduled Utah’s election day later. The decision was made to accommodate campaign times for those vying to become his successor. 

Utah’s election day deadlines

The first deadline to remember is that all votes must be cast before 8 p.m. on Utah’s Election Day, November 21. Voters can meet the deadline at polling locations, or with mail-in ballots. 

For those wanting to mail in their ballots, they must be postmarked by November 20, the day before Election Day. If you think it won’t get postmarked in time, play it safe and drop it in a ballot drop box.

If you haven’t received a mail-in ballot yet, check that your registration is up-to-date. You can request one from your county clerk’s office before November 14 at 5 p.m.

For those who aren’t registered, you can register online or at the polls on Election Day.
