Firefighters still working to contain Yellow Lake Fire

DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah — The U.S. Forest Service has provided an update on the Yellow Lake Fire. As of October 8, the fire is at just under 20,000 acres and is 21% contained.
According to the update, a smoke inversion is present in nearby valleys but does not represent an increased fire threat.
Variable winds are complicating matters for firefighters. However, no structures have been lost so far in the fire.
Present evacuation orders are still in effect.
Authorities are holding a community meeting at the Duchesne County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 6:00 p.m..
