Firework restrictions throughout Utah as Pioneer Day approaches

SALT LAKE CITY — Towns, cities and even counties across the state have released varying firework restrictions and bans as Pioneer Day approaches.

Many places including Tooele County, Bountiful, Weber County and Herriman (to name a few) have all released their own restrictions and bans.

Firework restrictions in Tooele County

As for fireworks in Tooele, the North Tooele Fire District took to Facebook to announce the county’s firework restrictions and guidelines.

The post states there are no approved areas to light fireworks in Stansbury Park, Lake Point or Pine canyon.

Fireworks are permitted in Grantsville in the following areas:

• South of Clark Street
• North of Durfee Street
• West of Matthew Street
• East of Cooley Street

Additionally, fireworks are also permitted in Erda in the following areas:

• West of S.R. 36
• East of Rose Springs Road

“We ask that you please take these restrictions seriously,” North Tooele Fire District said in the post. “Our firefighters have already been tasked with an enormous amount of fire activity this summer.”

Firework restrictions in Bountiful

Bountiful City announced its fire restrictions on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

The tweet states fireworks are restricted east of Orchard Drive and 400 East.

According to Bountiful City, lighting class-C fireworks anywhere in the city is prohibited at all times until December 30, 2022.

Firework restrictions in Weber County

Weber Fire District announced its firework restrictions in a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon.

The post encourages citizens of Weber County to be prepared, responsible, safe, and aware when it comes to fireworks.

Firework restrictions in Herriman

Herriman City announced Tuesday evening the established dates and times for Pioneer Day weekend.

The lighting of fireworks in Herriman City is permitted at the following times:

• On July 22 and 23 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• July 24 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• On July 25 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“We plead with you to use extreme caution, review the map of the restricted areas… and follow it,” the post reads. “[be] mindful of wind conditions and [remember] to be considerate of those around you. As we each do our part, we can have a safe and enjoyable holiday including the tradition of fireworks.”\
