SALT LAKE CITY — Just when it seemed there was no more snow to be had, more of the wet, white stuff is on the way to the state this weekend, according to KSL-TV meteorologist Matthew Johnson.
Johnson says northern Utah will get hit with another storm late Sunday.
“We work into Sunday, snow showers likely late in the evening,” Johnson told KSL NewsRadio.
He said some of those showers could linger into Monday morning. However, he says by Monday afternoon it will be mostly cloudy with a high of 39 degrees.
And then looking ahead to next week, Johnson says there are a couple of storms making their way to Utah.
“None of these look too terribly strong right now,” he said. “But we are anticipating snow next Tuesday and Wednesday.”
Johnson says the highs will be in the upper 30s next week.
The National Weather Service says snow will start out this weekend in southern Utah on Saturday night into Sunday and will move northward as Sunday progresses. The NWS says the heaviest snow in southern Utah will occur Sunday morning.
The NWS says snow accumulations for southern Utah are 2 to 5 inches in the lower elevations, with the exception of Washington County. Higher elevations could get between 5 to inches of snow with locally higher amounts.
We hope you aren’t tired of the snow because more is on the way for southern Utah Saturday night into Sunday. Expect the heaviest snow to occur Sunday morning. Winter weather advisories have been issued. #utwx pic.twitter.com/KsePncsUu4
