Brush fire quickly extinguished in Cottonwood Heights

SALT LAKE CITY — Law enforcement in Cottonwood Heights responded to a brush fire at 8065 Wasatch Blvd. on Thursday night after a reports of fireworks and a field that was on fire.
Unified Fire Captain Tony Barker said wind was a concern, and that it was pushing a fire toward nearby residential structures.
Though evacuations were considered, none took place according to Barker, who said the flames were quickly extinguished by UFA.
The fire burned approximately 2 acres before it was put out. Nobody was injured.
UFA said they kept an eye on the fire throughout the night to make sure there was no reignition.
