SALT LAKE CITY — Temperatures along the Wasatch Front have taken a nose dive and meteorologists say that trend is going to stick around.
On Monday we’ll be lucky to crack 30 degrees in Salt Lake City. Highs will only be in the 20s Tuesday through Thursday.
KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson said that on top of that, the wind is only making it feel colder.
It’s the coldest morning we’ve seen in about 30 days. Also factor in the wind, and it bites! #utwx 🥶 pic.twitter.com/wWsmCkyg2g

“We’ve been spoiled a little bit, with that mild, wet pattern that we had for about a month and a half. Now we’re getting into more January-like temperatures,” Johnson said.
KSL Meteorologist Kristen Van Dyke said a high-pressure system to the west is to blame for the strong winds.
“High pressure slowly builds in our direction but it never quite gets here. So it keeps us in a northerly flow, keeping our temperatures 10 degrees — at least — below average all week long.”
