Weather forecast shows Utah is in for above-average temperatures this summer

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah will experience higher-than-normal temperatures from June to August, according to recent outlooks from the National Weather Service. However, it might also have a strong monsoon season.
KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson said this follows similar predictions from the last few summers. He said there is some good news for southern Utah.
“The monsoon should kick in for Arizona, and then it could start to bleed into southern Utah as we head into July and August.”
According to Johnson, there is some correlation between the snowpack level and monsoons.
“Typically, on low snowpack winters, the following summer is actually really productive in the monsoon category.”
Johnson said this could start at the end of July or at the beginning of August.
