SALT LAKE CITY — Weather in Utah made its presence known Friday as snow and wind affected the state’s ski resorts, roads and powerlines.

5:53 p.m. update:

KSL Meteorologist Kevin Eubank joined Jeff Caplan’s Afternoon News for an update on Utah’s ongoing weather.

4:55 p.m. update:

Alta Ski Resort announced it would begin interlodge at 1 a.m. Saturday. This means anyone at the resort will not be able to go in or out due to snow levels and high avalanche danger.

Little Cottonwood Canyon will be closed overnight for avalanche mitigation.

4:20 p.m. update:

Over to the west, the city of Grantsville was hit by a power outage late Friday afternoon.

Rocky Mountain Power said the outage was due to wind. It initially affected over 2,000 customers.
