Utah getting rain and snow Thursday

SALT LAKE CITY— Rain and snow will impact most of the Beehive State on Thursday.
KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson said the valleys along the Wasatch Front will see a mix of rain and snow through the morning commute into the early afternoon. At that point, showers will become a lot more scattered.
However, the Wasatch Mountains will see snow for the majority of the day. Johnson said mountain snow could go as late as 11 p.m. By then, the mountains could have four to eight inches of snow.

Snow brings relief for southern Utah
Johnson said the mountains around St. George and Cedar City are expected to get a much-needed boost with this storm.
As of Thursday morning, the mountain snowpack in far southern and southwest Utah are as much as 35% below normal for this time of year. Johnson said the southwestern mountains could get six inches to a foot of snow over the course of this storm.
The low-elevation areas of southwest Utah could see as much as a half inch of water between rain and snow.
