Wet weather continues Tuesday morning

SALT LAKE CITY — Meteorologists expect yesterday’s storm to bring more wet weather to the Wasatch Front. More rain and snow will fall through Tuesday morning.
According to KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson, the storm bringing wet weather is a statewide system.
“They’re statewide systems they’re not just a Wasatch Front clipper nor just a northern Utah event,” said Johnson.
Additionally, the wet weather will help prepare soil for snowfall and later, spring runoff.
“We’ve got to re-charge that soil moisture so that our snowpack comes down on some decent soil,” said Johnson. “So that spring runoff that we always talk about … can actually make it down to the reservoirs.”
Johnson said that Tooele Valley received the most rain — with 0.38 inches recorded.
At Salt Lake City International Airport, 0.13 inches were recorded. West Valley City received a little bit more, measuring 0.16 inches.
Will the wet weather continue?
According to the KSL Weather Center, the chances of rain are expected to diminish as the day continues, however, they will not totally disappear.
Dry, overcast weather is forecast for Salt Lake on Wednesday and Thursday. There is a slight chance of rain in Cache Valley on Halloween Night.
