Even with last Sunday’s storm, this winter keeps being one for the warm and dry record-books.

The National Weather service says the town of La Verkin got zero inches of measurable snow during this meteorological winter of December, January and February.

La Verkin Mayor Richard Hirschi says they will need a really rainy spring to make up for it.

“You can always hope we get some. We hope we get some more snow and rain,” he said. “We do have water in the reservoirs, but before the summer’s over it will be pretty low.”

Mayor Hirschi says they usually don’t get much snow anyway, and if they do it is melted by noon.

Other areas recorded their warmest average temperature on record for winter, including Escalante, Utah Lake Lehi, Duchesne and Mountain Dell Dam.

The snow pack map shows most of the state in the red and orange range of about 50 percent of normal.
