SALT LAKE CITY– K-12 students can ditch their masks during the last week of school, Governor Cox announced Thursday during his weekly COVID-19 briefing.
The statewide mask mandate that was lifted in April but still applied to K-12 schools won’t be applicable the last week of school so students and teachers can speak with one another before the academic year concludes, says the governor.
However, schools and districts will still have the power to enforce masks if the administration believes they are necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
