SALT LAKE CITY — A new Roblox game, launched by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the Ad Council, is supporting teen mental health.
The game, Love, Your Mind World, was made for teens aged 13 to 17 to explore and have different zones that focus on aspects of mental health management.
“They’re (the zones) focused on different things … like asking for help, how to work through stress (and) one’s how to overcome obstacles and remove your self-doubt to kind of become more emotionally resilient,” said Dr. James Ashworth, executive vice chair of the Huntsman Mental Health Institute.
How can the Roblox game support mental health?
According to a Roblox Research Panel, more than half of teens on Roblox don’t know how to take care of their mental health.
Ashworth said this game isn’t meant to replace treatment but to help teens learn helpful skills.
“Maybe while they’re playing and having fun, (they) also learn some useful tips, or maybe skills or ideas around how to manage (the) emotional problems that we all experience in life,” said Ashworth.

The first Roblox “world” is now available, with two more set to launch later this month.
To ensure the space is safe for all users, chatting is restricted between players and all usernames are anonymous.
