Utah reports one new COVID-19 death, more than 2200 total cases

SALT LAKE CITY — Health officials blame one more death on COVID-19 in Utah, as the state’s number of coronavirus cases tops 2,200.
New COVID-19 death in Utah, more numbers
According to new numbers released Saturday by the Utah Department of Health, Utah now has:
- 2,206 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19
- 42,546 tests performed
- 190 COVID-19 hospitalizations
- 18 deaths related to COVID-19
Salt Lake County accounts for nearly half of the state’s total number of cases of coronavirus with over a thousand. Summit County comes in second with 300 cases, followed by Utah County’s 295.
No immediate information was available on the latest COVID-19 death.

How To Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus
COVID-19 coronavirus is transmitted from person to person. It is a virus that is similar to the common cold and the flu. So, to prevent it from spreading:
- Wash hands frequently and thoroughly, with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.
- Don’t touch your face.
- Keep children and those with compromised immune systems away from someone who is coughing or sneezing (in this instance, at least six feet)
- If there is an outbreak near you, practice social distancing (stay at home, instead of going to the movies, sports events, or other activities.)
- Get a flu shot.
