¡Vamos! Health aims to support Hispanic community in Utah

WEST VALLEY, Utah — As the Hispanic population in the U.S. continues to grow, ¡Vamos! Health says it wants to serve that community locally. That starts with the grand opening of its first clinic location this week.
¡Vamos! Health is a healthcare company that supports Hispanic families by offering services for both English and Spanish speakers.
The company opened its doors in May but celebrates its first clinic location’s official grand opening on Saturday.
“We thought it would be great to serve that medical need because the Hispanic community has jobs, they have families and they’re looking for healthcare, but they don’t necessarily have the patience or the understanding like many people, regardless of whether they’re Hispanic or not, of the complexity for health insurance,” said Maria Barnett, the Chief External Affairs Officer at ¡Vamos! Health.
¡Vamos! Health offers healthcare services without requiring insurance. People can sign up for a monthly subscription that starts at $60 for adults for primary care.
According to ¡Vamos! Health’s website, services include urgent care, family medicine and women’s health.
Patients will also be assigned to a community health navigator who can provide additional resources for things like taxes, housing questions and employment opportunities, Barnett said.
“We want to remove as many of those obstacles so that people can live happy lives and be healthy and thrive and help their children get on the right footing with everything they want to pursue,” Barnett said.
The ¡Vamos! Health team is excited to support the Hispanic community in making the most of its opportunities, Barnett said.
The grand opening takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its clinic location in West Valley City. The company said it would be completely open to the public with multiple free family activities.
