Voluntary recall of Costco frozen fruit over Hepatis A concerns

CLOVIS, CA — A voluntary recall was issued by Wawona Frozen Foods on their Organic DayBreak Blend frozen fruit packages distributed at Costco Wholesale stores.
The FDA warns frozen strawberries grown in Mexico could be contaminated with Hepatitis A.
The recall, posted by the FDA, affects packages distributed to Costco stores in Utah, as well as Arizona, California, Colorado, and Washington from April 15, 2022, to June 26, 2022. The product is no longer available for purchase.

Hepatitis A symptoms
If you are worried you could have been contaminated, the FDA says to look for the following symptoms; fever, headache, fatigue, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, abdominal pain, and dark-colored urine. In some instances, children, especially those under the age of six, could be asymptomatic to Hepatitis A infections.
The illness usually occurs within 15 to 50 days after eating or drinking contaminated food or water.
The FDA recommends persons who may have consumed the affected product should consult their healthcare provider or local health department to determine if a vaccination is appropriate.
