SALT LAKE CITY — KSL NewsRadio and its parent company, Bonneville International have received broadcast industry recognition for their community service efforts.

Bonneville International received the Service to America Award from the National Association of Broadcasters for its “Maui Strong” fundraising campaign.

Stations across Bonneville International’s network took part in the “Maui Strong” campaign. These include radio and television stations in Salt Lake City, Seattle, San Francisco, Sacramento, Phoenix and Denver.

All funds raised in each market were donated to the Hawaii Community Foundation.

“Television and radio stations are the cornerstones of their communities. They go above and beyond to serve their audiences,” said Michelle Duke, president, NAB Leadership Foundation. “From trusted reporting that uncovers corruption to fundraisers that help those in need, these stations are doing incredible work.”

KSL NewsRadio, in Salt Lake City, Utah, along with its sister station, Arizona Sports, each received the Crystal Radio Award. This award recognizes excellence in community service. For Arizona Sports this was history-making recognition. They became the first-ever sports radio station to receive this award.

“These awards are a testament to our team’s dedication and hard work,” said Tanya Vea, president and COO of Bonneville International. “The ‘Maui Strong’ initiative and the ongoing efforts of KSL NewsRadio and Arizona Sports underscore our commitment to making a meaningful difference.”
