Have You Seen This? Mom helps others laugh and relate in ‘Stanley cup craze’ video

THE PANTRY — Are you caught in the Stanley craze? Is that the only place you can get your water? This video might be for you (or it might be for you if you mock the Stanley cup as well).

I own two Stanley cups and carry the newest one with me throughout my house, filling it up multiple times a day. I like to think I’m not caught up in it, but it is my favorite cup.

This mom posted a hilarious sketch about how ridiculous the Stanley craze was in her family in a sketch she said was “based on a true story.”

It starts with her saying no to three children begging for Stanley quenchers, but it doesn’t take long before they are each passing her a Stanley to carry out to their car — where they quickly learn Stanley cups are meant to be kept upright.

They move into accessorizing, being proud of their cups and then a desperate search when a child leaves their cup behind after a basketball game.

 

The mom ends up searching, finding empty shelves, and waiting outside Target for the next truck when someone offers her a drink from a normal, unbranded water bottle. And it turns out, the water inside is just as good.

“It’s not the cup, it’s what’s inside that counts,” she says.

Yes, having cold water still in my cup in the morning is amazing, and it’s nice to have a cup I don’t need to fill every hour, but in the end, all we’re searching for is the water.
