SALT LAKE CITY — Sunday was, in the words of congressional representative Christ Stewart, “a great day for America.”

Special counsel Robert Mueller reported on his investigation to Congress on Sunday, declaring that there was no evidence that President Donald Trump or his campaign conspired with the Russian government to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Each member of Utah’s congressional delegation, including newly-elected Democrat Ben McAdams, expressed their desire for the country to accept Mueller’s findings and move forward.

“If the Mueller report supports the conclusion that no additional criminal matters are unresolved, then it is time for the country and the Congress to move on,” McAdams wrote in a statement to KSL. “The next steps on how much of his report is available to Congress are still evolving, but I continue to support full public transparency and disclosure of the Mueller report to the fullest extent allowed by law.”

Rep. John Curtis echoed McAdams, writing, “I look forward to reading the complete report as soon as it is available. I remain consistent in my opinion that the American people should have that same opportunity as soon as possible.”

Ultimately, Utah’s representation looks forward to putting the investigation behind them.

“While I am pleased with the outcome of this investigation, I am all the more pleased to be able to now put these questions behind us and get on with the important duty of working for the American people without a distraction,” Rep. Rob Bishop wrote in a press release. “America deserves our full attention. Now, onward and upward!”
