KSL Movie Show welcomes Valerie Cameron as new host

SALT LAKE CITY— The KSL Movie Show is excited to announce that Valerie Cameron will join the show as its newest co-host, following the retirement of longtime host Steve Salles.

For years, Steve Salles helped make The KSL Movie Show a trusted and entertaining destination for movie fans across Utah. His insightful reviews, industry knowledge, and engaging conversations with audiences and filmmakers alike made the show a staple for listeners. As he steps away from the microphone to enjoy retirement, the program now welcomes a fresh voice to continue the tradition.

Valerie Cameron brings a passion for film, storytelling, and engaging conversation to the show. With her enthusiasm for movies, Cameron is eager to join the team and connect with listeners who tune in each week for reviews, interviews, and lively discussions about the latest releases.

“Joining The Movie Show on KSL is incredibly exciting, and if I’m being honest, a little intimidating as well,” said Cameron. “The show has such a strong legacy, with an impressive lineup of critics who have come before me. But at the same time, being back on the radio and getting to talk about movies—two of my favorite things—is a dream.”

Cameron knows movies and radio- which makes her a perfect fit for the KSL NewsRadio Movie Show team. She’s a film critic and the founder of the What to See With Val podcast. With film school credits from Salt Lake Community College and USC, she watches over 200 films per year. She’s judged 20 film festivals in the last 6 years and is a proud member of the Utah Film Critics Association. 

“I’ve been a film critic since 2008, and over the years I’ve been fortunate to experience many sides of the film industry, from filmmaking and editing to consulting with filmmakers and reviewing films for audiences. Those experiences allow me to look at movies through several different lenses, and I’m excited to bring that perspective to the show. More than anything, I hope listeners can feel how much I genuinely love movies, and that I can help them discover their next favorite film,” Cameron said. 

Cameron brings 18+ years of radio experience to the mic. She’s been a morning show co-host on B98.7 and has worked as a Promotions Director for Radio Disney, B98.7, KBull 93, and iHeart Radio—so she understands both sides of the glass. 

When she’s not watching movies or behind a microphone, you’ll find her with her family, her dogs, or hunting down great tacos. And if you’re wondering, her favorite film is Saving Private Ryan. 

Cameron will join the Andy Farnsworth on the mic as they continue to bring listeners the latest movie reviews, entertainment news, and conversations about everything happening on the big screen.
