“Alison has a dual degree as a music teacher and music therapist which make an enormous difference with our severe special needs students. Alison works on each students individual education goal while they all attend her music class-which is an amazing feat! She seamlessly weaves multicultural lessons, life skill lessons, academic lessons with musical fun! Alison is an amazing talent herself, as she sings, plays the piano and guitar as she also engages the students by giving them the opportunity to try instruments themselves. The joy expressed by our students is obvious! Music is the vehicle that Alison uses to make an incredible difference in the lives of our students. The progress they are able to make in their goals shows the difference that Alison makes in the lives of our kiddos. She is a truly amazing educator and we are fortunate to have her as part of our Hartvigsen family!”
