As a parent to a first grade student I have been blown away from the support that Mrs. Bremer gives not only my child but me as a parent. My child has a seizure disorder that despite many different drug trials we were unable to get under control by the time school started in August. My husband and I were afraid what complications might occur during school. There is already a bit of adjustment from kindergarten to first grade and the seizures made it that much more complicated. We were even considering postponing enrollment, but gratefully we didn’t have to.

We met with Ms. Bremer before school started and explained the situation. She went the extra mile by offering her time as recess duty for all recesses, and lunches to make sure that my son was safe. Even though she was only required to do it every so often. She also made it a priority to watch my son a little more than normal, and any time he had a seizure she would send home a letter with the exact time, how long it lasted, and how he was afterward. Because of this we were able to continue to track his seizure activity and ultimately we found the right drug, and dosage that controls them. Ms. Bremer also went the extra mile to protect my son from any other child thinking he was different. She hid the seizures with distractions. Of which, we were very grateful. I am always confident that my son was in good safe hands with Ms. Bremer.

I know that I am not the only parent that thinks so highly of Ms. Bremer. She is always very outgoing, kind, and accepting to everybody. She truly loves the children that she teaches, and that love is emulated in the way she treats them. As a parent with a child that needed a little more I am so grateful to her for her kindness. Without hesitation I nominate Mrs. Bremer for this award
