Brittany Budd, Morgan Elementary

“Brittany is an amazing teacher who truly loves her students. She has overcome some severe health issues, such as a double transplant (kidney and pancreas), and has struggled with her vision and temporarily went blind due to ruptured vessels in her eye. She had to take a break when the organs became available, but she told the principal that she would be back and to save a job for her. She loves teaching students who struggle with behavior issues, as well as health issues and reaches out to them to let them know that she understands what they are going through, since she has gone through so many of the same problems as she grew up. She requests the teachers to give her her the difficult kids as she can love them like nobody else. She watches out for those children who need a little more TLC and provides that care for them. She is always telling the kids how much she cares for them and looking for the good in them while standing up for them when she feels they are being picked on. She is a true inspiration to those she works with and teaches. I admire her spirit of teaching and her love of her students.”
