“Caradon is an amazing teacher! She is dedicated to her students and making learning fun. When Caradon first came to the school, she served as the Parent Organization President and worked in the office. After getting hired on as a teacher, she brought her positive attitude and creativity to everything she did. She is unapologetically herself, wearing fun, colorful clothing that would give Miss Frizzle a run for her money! After all, “polka dots are [her] favorite color!” She has an infectious positivity and treats everyone with kindness and dignity, even when that sentiment isn’t returned. She cares deeply about the success of her students and is collaborative with colleagues to give her students the best learning environment. Caradon goes above and beyond in her job. Years ago, she asked administration if she could instill a love of music and theater in our students by single-handedly directing the 6th grade play. She has directed shows such as Aladdin, School House Rock, Peter Pan, and this year’s Beauty and the Beast.
Caradon is a mom of 3 boys, but she has also opened her heart and home to many foster kids. She and her family have been through heartache after heartache, dealing with the foster care system and the trials that come with it. You would never know she has had a bad day, however, because she is dedicated to each of her students having the best experience in her class. Her job brings her pure joy. She involves herself as a Lighthouse Team Leader in our Leader In Me program, and she is actively involved in parent communication and events. She is a force to be reckoned with, and this award would bring her such joy and confidence. I would love for her to have a physical reminder of how awesome she is and how much we love her. We are so lucky to work with her. Please consider Caradon as your award recipient. It would be a well-placed choice. Thank you for considering her.”
