“I’ve been a teacher for a really long time. I’ve known and worked with Debbie for most of those years. Debbie is a district mentor for Tooele School District. Debbie never enters a classroom judging a teacher but is only there to help. I needed this help many times and each time she taught me effective strategies that would help me grow and become a better educator. Seven years ago I moved to another state. I still teach and everyday I use something Debbie taught me. Others frequently ask me how did I become the teacher I now am. My response is always the same. I had a great mentor that showed me what a good teacher I could become. I know Debbie isn’t a classroom teacher but she is responsible for helping Tooele’s teachers to become better in every way. Her work is behind the scenes and often times unknown to the public which is okay to her. I just think she deserves credit because I wouldn’t be where I am without her influence.”
