Garrett Gaither, Jordan High School

“Mr. Gaither goes beyond the mark by translating to many of his students to help them understand what is going on in class. He has also gone out of his way to help students with college scholarship essays, taking them home out of school hours and adding advice and highlighting grammatical errors for students to fix themselves. His students trust him and view him as a professional. He will go the extra mile to help his students succeed and achieve their life long goals.
But best of all he creates lessons that include discussions, simulations, and reading primary documents to analyze what is true in this day of misinformation. He is not a social studies teacher that lectures the whole time and we can’t thank him enough for that.
He is the teacher I would want all my kids to have because of his engaging lessons, desire to make kids critically think, and the literacy involved which makes for the best college preparedness.
Mr. Gaither was also recently selected as a guest of honor by the Jordan boys soccer team for being an inspiring teacher.
His awards speak to his ability, he stands out among his peers, and his students are inspired by him. I could go on and on! We are so grateful for teachers like Mr. Gaither!”
