I want to nominate Jodie Thompson at Snow Horse Elementary for recognition as an outstanding 4th grade teacher. Jodie is the kind of educator every parent hopes their child will have—fun, dedicated, compassionate, and positive.
Jodie brings a special energy to the classroom that is truly unmatched. Her signature tagline, “You’re gonna love it!” is more than just a phrase—it’s a reflection of the joyful, upbeat spirit she brings to everything she does. Whether it’s math, reading, science, or a classroom project, Jodie finds a way to make learning exciting, and engaging. Her students look forward to coming to school each day because they know they’re walking into a space filled with encouragement, fun, and love.
What truly sets Jodie apart is her unwavering commitment to making every single child feel valued and seen. She goes above and beyond to ensure that each student knows they are loved, respected, and capable of great things. Her classroom is a safe place where kids can be themselves, make mistakes, learn, and grow with confidence.
Jodie has taught all of her 4 children and continues to give her all to every student she meets. Her dedication is evident in everything she does—from the hours she puts in outside of school to the way she lights up when she talks about her students’ growth and achievements. She attends plays and other events to make sure they knows her students are supported.
She is not just a great teacher—she is a life-changer. As one of her best friends I know just how much she loves her job and students.
She has also faced health issues the make her have to have multiple surgeries a year and you wouldn’t even know that she has to go through so much. She just smiles and shows up for the kids.
