“Jody teaches 2nd grade at John Hancock School. The children love her, and she goes the extra mile every day to help her students learn and achieve success. Her room has a theme which is a jungle atmosphere, vowel wall, birthday wall, calendar for the students too help change out at the end of every month etc. Her classroom is very inviting for students and parents. She is well prepared each morning, and stays after school every night for a few hours to grade papers, do curriculum for the students and to make sure she is prepared to teach. Jody also taught Special Education for 4 years before changing to second grade. Therefore, she knows how to handle those children who are main streamed into her class room. She knows how to work with struggling students, students that are below grade level.”
