“After teaching English in the classroom for 29 years. Krissy decided to get her masters degree and become an administrator. After a short time at Viewmont high Krissy found out that she has stage 4 colon cancer. Krissy quickly felt that battling cancer and being in administration would not work. She returned to the classroom (her real love) at the Davis Catalyst Center in Kaysville. She is teaching a class called Teaching as a Profession. She has continued to teach while fighting the cancer. Always showing up and needing at times to teach from a wheelchair and use a mic to teach her class.
After battling her cancer now for 2 years with multiple surgeries, including one to remove a brain tumor, chemotherapy and radiation treatments Krissy has decided to retire from teaching after almost 31 years of teaching by the end of this calendar year. This will be her final year with Davis school district. She has influenced so many students and teachers. She has also influenced her own children as they have become teachers. Her oldest daughter is a chemistry teacher at Northridge High, 2nd daughters is a math teacher and the soccer coach at Farmington. Her son is the running backs coach for the football team and teacher at Snow College. She truly will leave a legacy as one of the great english teacher in the state of Utah.”
