“I’ve had the privilege of knowing LaDawn for over 20 years, and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most dedicated and compassionate educators I’ve ever known. Her passion for teaching goes far beyond the classroom—she pours her heart into everything she does for her students and her colleagues.
LaDawn consistently goes above and beyond, not just meeting expectations but exceeding them in every way. Whether she’s planning thoughtful lessons, supporting a fellow teacher, or offering a listening ear to a student in need, she brings a sense of care and commitment that makes a lasting impact. Her ability to connect with her students, to challenge them, and to encourage them is truly remarkable.
LaDawn is not just a wonderful teacher—she’s the heart of the school. She is more than deserving of any recognition that comes her way, and I feel lucky to know her.

As a Special Education Resource Teacher I work closely with LaDawn. She bent over backwards to meet the needs of any student with an IEP (individual education plan) and/or struggling students. She is very aware of all her students’ needs and will make any modifications or accommodations they need. LaDawn is a team player and goes above and beyond to help all members. Technology is a strength of LaDawn’s and is so willing to help even if I barge into her classroom in panic mode. She creatively makes lesson slides and shares with her team. LaDawn is an amazing friend and teacher. I have worked with her for 20 years and she is still as excited to start the new school year as she was when I first started working with her.
