“She knows how to teach, this sounds simple, but it’s not. She teaches out of love and passion for what she does, she finds great joy in music and expresses it to us in amazing ways, she is engaging and fun and having class with her every day is one of my favorite things ever. She is very professional and know what she is doing and knows what she wants from us, but more importantly, she knows exactly how to get us there. She is truly my favorite teacher and we wouldn’t have one of the best choirs in the state if it wasn’t for her.”

-Aidan Allen

“She is the most caring, respectful, and loving teacher I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. There is no way I could’ve gotten through the past years of high school without her on my side. I have seen her give up her personal time to make sure her students are doing okay and have everything they need numerous times. She puts so much hard work and dedication into her classes and makes sure all her choirs are getting the attention and practice needed to succeed in choir and school in general. The opportunities that she grants her students, not only in choir, but in life too, are so incredible and often once in a life time! She is one of the most treasured people in my life and I have no idea where I would be without her and her example.”

-Oakley

“Oh my goodness, what DOESN’T make Mrs T incredible? She is our purely amazing choir teacher here at Taylorsville High! Mrs T is kind to everyone she meets and treats her kids with respect and care, I always feel appreciated when I talk to her. She’s really funny and knows how to brighten the mood of a class as well as be serious, attentive, and gentle when she needs to be. What I love about her is that she is so friendly, but she knows when to get work done and snap a choir into shape! Thanks Mrs T for everything you do for us, we all love you SO much, seriously, thank you!”

-Hannah Wall

“Shes an amazing music teacher and had the BEST choirs around. She has hundreds of students and knows each one by name. She is so kind, caring, and is such an advocate for us. She always has a smile on her face, has a positive attitude, and is an extraordinary example to everyone who’s crossed her path.”

-Rachel Booth

“She always takes care of her students like they’re her own kids, she wants to help them grow and succeed with school. She always pushes us to do our best and not let us accept failure but to try again.”

-Jessica Cooper

“Mrs. T is such an amazing influence on everyone in our school. She cares about all of her students and encourages everyone to do better and try new things. She has taught me so much about not only singing, but how to be a better person”

-Claire Skinner

“She genuinely cares about each and every one of her students. If she notices something is off she’ll make an effort to make sure that they’re okay and she always shows an interest in students lives. Shes also an incredible teacher and she does a wonderful job at making things easy to understand and she’s very patient when it takes a while for students to understand. She always puts in 100% effort even when she’s having a bad day or she’s tired and it really improves the mood of the classroom because she just radiates excitement and joy. I can’t think of a better teacher to nominate.”

-Roberto Perkins

“Mrs. Tarrant is so good at making everyone feel loved and welcomed and confident!!! She puts her whole heart into teaching and really connects with the student. Her room is a safe space to have fun and work hard and make wonderful memories. She is always so supportive and kind and so good at putting her students’ needs first and helping them with whatever problem they come to her with. Her students love and respect her and because of the relationship we have with her we are able to learn so much and be very unified as a choir and make wonderful music together!”

-Eliza Gabbitas

“Mrs. Tarrant works incredibly hard in the choir program. Her choirs are arguably the best in the state. They are also some of the largest. This is because she is fully dedicated to them and loves every member of them. She has blessed so many students by helping them learn to sing. She knows everybody’s name, and shows that she loves them individually. She is my favorite teacher at school!”

-Benjamin Lloyd

“She is dedicated, kind, caring, open, and is ALWAYS doing her best to make sure students feel they belong at tville. She is an INCREDIBLE musician and teacher, and my life would not be the same without her.”

-Xander Stensrud

“She makes everyone feel like family. She’s incredibly talented and passionate and it really shows in her work. She’s patient and kind and empathetic. Everyone loves Mrs. Tarrant!”

-Brynna Tuttle
