“Márcia is originally from Brazil. She has been working the past few years as a substitute teacher or aide for Duchesne County School District. This year the school experienced a terrible death of a teacher and
an untimely departure of another. The school district asked “Miss Marcia” to step into the roll of teacher for a 2nd grade class in March. With new structuring in the classroom and a rewards system for doing a job well done, helping others, being kind, and good behavior, the 2nd graders have thrived. Every child has vastly improved with their testing, in math and English (not her first language.). The majority have went from below average overall in testing to above average with a cumulative average now of 92% up from a 41% Ty pical average.
She loves her students and it shows!
She has personally given away so much time, effort and rewards. It ranged from soccer balls, footballs, basket balls, supplies, kits, dolls, and even a skateboard. It is easy to see how the kids have responded in the classroom by the results.”
