“Mr. Green is the most amazing teacher I have ever had. I took his english honours and popular literature classes in 9th grade, and I would do anything to retake them with him. He’s such a kind person to all. He has sympathy for his students while still keeping it professional in the way that he is not in our lives for very long. He teaches so wonderfully and he doesn’t make you feel stupid if you don’t understand the content. He’s careful and considerate. He takes the time to really plan out the lessons in a way that will keep students engaged and excited to be there. He’s funny, even though his jokes are cheesy and will sometimes fall flat. It’s very clear that he has a passion for helping kids learn and improve. There’s freedom in his classroom- freedom to speak out minds, freedom to write anything we please, freedom to feel. It’s a safe environment; the safest classroom I have ever been in and that’s because Mr. Green makes it feel safe. When he’s frustrated, he doesn’t yell at his students. When he’s happy with them, he makes it known. If a student is struggling, his classroom is safe for them. He’s a very impactful person. Even now, almost two years after I was first in his class, I still think about and silently thank him for how he impacted me and my life. Mr. Green is the perfect example of what a teacher should be. I wish I had more time in his class.”
