“Megan Baker teaches three different classes every day, Foods for 9th grade, Family and Consumer Sciences Exploration for 8th and College and Career Awareness for 7th graders. This past year she has also worked on and received her Master’s Degree, in addition to all her courses she teaches, while being a wife plus mom to 3 adorable kids. She is also the SBO Advisor and works so hard to make each year fun and successful for the school and students. She has helped Student Body Officers plan and follow through with activities, assemblies, elections and all of the Sub for Santa program for Riverview Jr High. Mrs. Baker plans fun, educational activities for her classes, as examples, she has the CACA and FACS classes make rooms in shoe boxes to help them understand interior design scale and proportion principles. She has also had ‘cupcake wars’ in her foods classes to help the kids learn how important a recipe is and presentation skills. Megan Baker has had a lasting influence on her students, many come back to say hello and chat, and eventually ask her to connect on social media after they graduate. She makes learning fun, interesting and loves the students. She recently mentioned she cannot imagine not teaching and being with her students. She is a wonderful educator.”
